IN OTHER WORDS-YOU CAN'T JUDGE A GOURMET MEAL BY THE SHIT IT PRODUCES THE NEXT DAY.

This is an opinion, only my opinion, but one founded on the facts and data of my hard observance. I have formulated and frustrated over many years of study and conversation with creative minds from different disciplines consisting of, but not limited to visual art; Theater, literary and scientific arenas to name a few... you can throw religion in there also.

The creative arts are experienced. experience occurs continuously.
The interaction of live creatures and environing conditions create the process of living. Work is completed to satisfaction, books are written games of chess are played through. These actions all solve problems. Because of the continuous merging of art, religion and science we get caught up in an analytical process that can spiral out of control at times.distracting us from our higher goal instead of working side by side with it.

We have a thought; from that we come to a conclusion. A conclusion is a vast oversimplification of what we do...Art is beyond that.. and religion might be further if one believes.
Picasso and Matisse argued for a lifetime over design and visual information Kandinsky drove us wild with the dot. the effects of color whether pigmented as ocher or chemically reacted to heat as that of the molecule of a blue eye, for example, bear little to promote aesthetic principles when someone like an Andrew Wyeth or a Mondrian need to express an idea.
The enemy of the esthetic is not practical or intellectual. It is the chaotic element that has always existed since the due process connection of carbon and gas. This is the living ebb and flow of a creative universe that is in itself an intelligence that needs to recreate itself constantly. This force that dwells inside us is not to be characterized as amusing. As it bears down on us it involves a suffering that involves us in the full spectrum of all our earthly and human emotions. Thus manifesting itself in Love and joy... misunderstand and pain, but most of all the Poetry that is the human spirit; part angel part man as the church of the renaissance thought of it.

Theory will always be there, but a fleeting artistic solution could fade like a vapor if not seized and acted upon. We are not all the same. we are not equal. The complexity of what we are talking about is all conceptual. Abstract art is conceptual. language is conceptual. Marshal Mcluen media and semiotics are huge areas of study.
But if an Artist does not represent his time who will? At this point I am not sure if I am still even on the topic of Aesthetics. Reason at its height cannot attain a complete grasp of assurance of what is good and what is bad art. Only what variables are present in time (at that time) however, due to the reinventing nature that is the world and we are a part of that.. are we even sure what we are creating will survive the fickle hand of time? A chef once told me " Just eat and enjoy you will never be able to explain the experience of dinner or this vintage wine once they are both consumed"
